About 4000 Sundays
Hey! I’m Elesha. Thanks for stopping by 4000 Sundays.
I love to travel, I love to eat and I love to write. Sometimes I do all three at the same time, I know, talented right?
My mission in life is to see as much of the world as possible, sample as much food as possible and just generally try and live life according to my own rule book. I’m a minimalist, I don’t believe filling your life with ‘stuff ‘ will make you any happier, I believe in the pursuit of dreams that don’t involve owning the biggest house or the latest iPhone. Oh, and I’m also obsessed with coffee. If a good latte can’t turn a bad day around, I don’t know what will.
My appetite and I are based in Melbourne, Australia but we wander frequently, in particular spending quite a lot of time in South and Central America since 2010. I consider myself a professional taco eater, margarita drinker and chicken bus rider. I spent three months travelling solo through parts of Central America and by doing so confirmed that you don’t need to be a super travel ninja (or a guy) to travel safely and have an amazing time in this part of the world.
Where my wanderlust has taken me over the years
- Costa Rica
- United Kingdom
- New Zealand
Why I called this blog 4000 Sundays
Once upon a time, someone told me if we live to see our eighties, we will have around 4000 Sundays in our lives. I’d never really thought about it like that before. Sure, we all know our lives here on earth don’t go on forever but putting a number on our Sundays really hit home. There are a finite number of days in our lives.
I want to fill the finite number of days in my life with the things I love. Travel, eating and writing. So I thought it fitting to name my blog 4000 Sundays.
